An important frequently asked question…

Whilst we would recommend installation being undertaken by a professional, if you are a competent DIY’er you may choose to do this yourself.

We do not offer practical installation guidance other than the instructions provided within the product packaging.

Firstly, do not use abrasive cleaning agents or sponges.

We would strongly advise against using any product that contain chlorine bleach, formic acid, acetic or hydrochloric acid.

We would advise that whatever cleaning agent you are using that you do not apply it directly to the tap, but instead apply the cleaning agent to a soft, lint-free cotton cloth first.

Do not mix different cleaning products together and always follow the cleaning product’s manufacturers instructions.

Remember, damage caused by improper handling is not covered in the manufacturer’s guarantee.

If you are in any doubt, use warm soapy water, or vinegar, and a soft cloth only.

All of our taps come with basic fitting instructions and a technical specification/line drawing, however, we would always recommend that you seek professional advice if you are unsure of anything as these are intended for guidance only.

Within the box you will typically receive the following:

your chosen tap, flexible supply hoses with 1/2″ compression fittings, appropriate rubber & metal washers, retention nuts, hose weight & tap support (where applicable), fixings and general instructions.

TECHNICAL- FAQ's

A great frequently asked question and an important one too!

Our taps can work on gravity systems with pressures as low as 0.5bar.

Please note: we cannot accept product returns that have been installed for a refund; please ensure you have sufficient water pressure before installation.

Full details regarding your chosen product specification can be found on the “Additional Information” tab on the specific product page.

Our taps can work on high pressure systems, however optimum performance is achieved at 3.0bar.

Full details regarding your chosen product specification can be found on the “Additional Information” tab on the specific product page.

A really important frequently asked question…

If you decide to purchase a new tap without knowing what pressure your water is under, there is a possibility that you could end up being disappointed with your new tap installation.

The 4 different types of plumbing systems are:

1. Hot Gravity & Cold Gravity/Mains

2. Combination Boiler

3. Mains High Pressure

4. Pump Assisted

For more information about these systems read our plumbing systems information.

The information above is for guidance only – please consult an appropriate professional if you are in anyway unsure.

All of the IINTRA taps operate between 0.5bar and 5.0bar of pressure with a recommended working pressure of 3.0bar.

Typically a gravity fed plumbing system operates at 0.2bar on the upstairs of a 2 storey house and 0.5bar downstairs.

Therefore, if the above pressures match your property, installation is in a downstairs kitchen, for example, then our taps will operate.

The information above is for guidance only – please consult an appropriate professional if you are in anyway unsure.

All of the IINTRA taps operate between 0.5bar and 5.0bar of pressure with a recommended working pressure of 3.0bar.

Typically a combination boiler system operates at up to 1.0bar of pressure.

Therefore, if the above pressures match your property then our taps will operate.

All of the IINTRA taps operate between 0.5bar and 5.0bar of pressure with a recommended working pressure of 3.0bar.

Typically a pump assisted high pressure system operates at over 3.0bar of pressure.

Therefore, if your water pressure is between 3.0 bar and 5.0bar, then our taps will operate well, anything over 5.0bar may damage the tap and cause it to fail.

This is a frequently asked question…

Whilst, in theory, there would be no practical reason why you couldn’t, we would not recommend it unless you plan to brace the sink/drainer and tap accordingly.

It is not unusual for a quality tap like ours, due to the weight and physicality of the product, to cause a Stainless Steel sink to “flex” – this is not a fault of the tap or the sink.

Our products are of a very high quality and are manufactured from heavy gauge material, therefore are substantial in weight. They are intended to be fitted to a thicker composite sink and drainer, which may also require bracing, but ideally a solid work surface.
